Unitarian Church – Saturday 13th april

Ensemble Mosatrïc   – The Tolka Hot Club

A beguiling night of song, music and dance await when two groups from different parts of Europe come together to perform at the beautiful Unitarian Church, Dublin on Saturday 13th of April.

Ensemble Mosatrïc and The Tolka Hot Club are both groups that defy simple genre classification and look to blend music from different regions and traditions into a powerful and visceral artistic spectacle.

At first glance, Mosatrïc is a trio, however, this ensemble consists of far more than three components. Instead, it is an experiment that seeks to move through several dimensions:

different genres and styles of dance and music, ranging from classical over traditional to jazz, are merged to create colourful and multi-faceted compositions.

The three artists were first introduced during their studies at the University of the Arts in Berlin and started collaborating as a trio in the summer of 2019. Since then they have been performing regularly all over Europe. At the end of 2020, they were awarded the audience prize at the D-bü competition, which supports and promotes artists with innovative concert formats.

The Tolka Hot Club are known for their cross pollination of influences ranging from gypsy jazz, swing and classical to chanson, world music and much more. Each member brings their own virtuosic ability to create a soundscape that is lush and captivating.
The group have started to perform their own original material interspersing them with their unique arrangements of music from all over the world. A high energy yet soulful performance is their trademark style and the group cannot wait to share this special night with another amazing ensemble.
